​Tokyo Olympics come to an end with fireworks, music, and hope

The Tokyo edition of the Olympic Games was declared closed on August 8 by IOC chief Thomas Bach.

The 16-day event, in which India bagged 7 medals, culminated in a closing ceremony that began in a nearly empty Olympic stadium.

As the Olympic flame was extinguished, fireworks lit up the Tokyo sky with the word Arigato, meaning Thank You in Japanese.

Out of 205 nations, plus the Refugee Olympic team, 93 countries managed to get on the podium at Tokyo Games.
