(February 5, 2025) When Manyyaa Adlakkha moved to Dubai, she became part of the city’s growing Indian diaspora, which forms the largest non-citizen population, making up nearly 38 percent of UAE’s population. With Indians bringing their traditions and cultural practices to Dubai, there has always been a strong interest in astrology and Vaastu Shastra — ancient sciences that trace back to the Vedic age and the Indus Valley civilization. These practices, deeply rooted in India’s cultural heritage, have become a form of soft power, shaping lives well beyond the country’s borders.
Spotting an opportunity to meet this growing demand, Manyyaa founded Vastuguru to combine the ancient wisdom of Vaastu and astrology with modern-day challenges, and in doing so, she is playing her part in promoting India’s soft power in Dubai. “My goal is to serve the community and inspire the new generation by highlighting the immense potential of our rich Indian culture and these ancient sciences,” she tells Global Indian.

The Power of Vaastu and Numerology
Manyyaa’s journey has been shaped by her deep curiosity for numbers and mysteries. “I was always fascinated by numbers and the mysticism surrounding them — right from bus tickets to birth dates. I’d add them up and feel thrilled if they matched my lucky number,” says Manyyaa. “Growing with so much curiosity as a child led me to find my way towards reiki healing, astrology, numerology and Vaastu Shastra after my education,” says Mannyya, who is a B.Ed. graduate with a master’s in economics from Pune University. A self-proclaimed bibliophile, she was drawn to books at a young age. “The more I read, the deeper my passion for these subjects grew. By the age of 24, I had developed expertise in reiki healing, astrology, numerology, and Vaastu Shastra, especially in matters concerning couples and children — whether studies, parental guidance, marital issues, career growth, or similar areas,” she adds.
However, she didn’t pursue it professionally until she arrived in Dubai after her marriage. A teacher by profession, she continued working in the field until a bizarre incident changed her perspective. “A young child once came to me and, during our conversation, removed his artificial eye —a custom-made ocular prosthesis — right in front of me. That moment profoundly changed how I viewed life and made me realise the immense suffering people, especially children, endure,” she recalls. “It was after this experience that I began delving deeper into reiki healing.” Learning reiki was the starting point of her career as a Numerologist, Vaastu expert and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) practitioner. She began by exploring and working with healing energy, understanding the flow of universal energy, and using it to help many people and children around her, including her own.
Transforming Lives Through Ancient Sciences
Over the years, as an expert in numerology, Vaastu and switch word, she has worked with clients across India and UAE, helping their lives and businesses flourish. “I usually integrate astrology, numerology and Vaastu concepts. It is the process of bringing a space’s energies into harmony by considering both the numerological vibrations and the spatial arrangements as per Vaastu,” says Mannyya, who is also a motivational speaker. “I have taught many people the power of switch words and how they can benefit from these magical words.”
India’s Soft Power on a Global Stage
Vaastu Shastra and numerology are ancient sciences that have been a part of India’s culture for thousands of years. Vaastu, which focuses on creating harmony between people and their surroundings, dates back to the Vedic period, while numerology, on the other hand, is the study of the significance of numbers in our lives. Today, these ancient practices have found a global audience. Vaastu is used worldwide to design homes and workplaces that promote balance and positivity, while numerology continues to fascinate people looking for insights into their lives. Today, through her work, Manyyaa is not only helping individuals but also playing a part in showcasing India’s cultural influence on a global stage, keeping these age-old traditions alive in a contemporary world.

Astro-numerology combines the principles from astrology and numerology. While both are considered pseudoscience by many modern scientists, these practices have historical roots in the Indian belief system. “The same can be believed for Vaastu Shastra. It is the ancient Hindu system of architecture that focuses on the balance between a building and its inhabitants. A combination of all these sciences and studies provides insights into various aspects of an individual’s life,” she avers. Being a numerologist, she has a strong desire to help others navigate their lives and make sense of their life experiences. “I find fulfilment in providing guidance, support, and clarity to others who seek answers to life’s questions or if they are facing challenges in their personal or professional lives. This desire keeps me motivated,” she says. She has always turned to numerology and Vaastu for guidance and insight. “That’s what I have learnt from my Guru, Rahul Kaushl which has helped me overcome all the challenges in my life.”
A Vision for the Future
In her free time, Manyyaa enjoys reading books, with Paulo Coelho and Will Smith among her favourite authors. She also dedicates time to giving back by supporting children at a charitable trust and caring for animals at a local shelter. “My future plan is to complete my PhD and start a school where I can share my knowledge and wisdom with those who wish to learn about these subjects,” she says.
Grateful for the opportunities she has had, Manyyaa is focused on expanding her knowledge and bringing meaningful changes to her life and the lives of others. “I sincerely hope that others can benefit from the power of numerology and Vaastu, just as I have,” she concludes.
