Yes, Indian education system is good. With the introduction of NEP 2020, it is on the path of becoming even better. NEP is bringing positive change in the education system of India making it at par with the best in the world.

A large part of Indian education system has so far been theoretical with little scope for practical learning. It also provides lesser opportunity for research. Creative learning and thinking of students get compromised due a specific syllabus education system that is followed in India.

Indian education system is not poor. In fact, it is getting better since the introduction of National Education Policy 2020. Positive changes have already started to get evident, for example now students can pursue dual degree in college across different streams. This is a welcome change.

India ranked 35th on the overall education index in 2019 in the Worldwide Educating for the Future Index (WEFFI). The total score was 53. The scores were based on three categories – policy environment, teaching environment and overall socio-economic environment. The country’s rank was 40th with an overall score of 41.2 across categories in 2018.

Compulsory education is one of the good features of the modern Indian education system. It is compulsory for every child to pass class 10 to get employment or to pursue higher studies. Due to this, even parents from lower strata of society try to educate their children till least class 10.
