Indian History

India is a land of ancient civilization and its history is glorious. The stories revolving around Indian history are remarkable. The country’s rich social, economic, and cultural ethos are influenced by a long process of regional expansion. Indian history starts with the foundation of the Indus Valley Civilization and the beginning of the era of the Aryans. These two phases are referred as the pre-Vedic and Vedic age. Hinduism arose in the Vedic period.

The fifth century witnessed the unification of India under Ashoka, who had become an ardent follower of Buddhism. The eighth century witnessed the advent of Islam in India. By the 11th century it had established itself as integral part of the country. Not only the Indian history but also the political climate of the country has been affected by different rulers. Invasion by Europeans has also impacted the history of the country. It was followed by India's struggle for independence and victory in the year 1947. Indian history is a beautiful amalgamation of all the triumphs and trials that its people have gone through. Even after decades, the country cherishes the contribution of Indian heroes who fought for freedom.
