Ambassador Geeta Rao Gupta’s journey is empowering millions

Dr. Geeta Rao Gupta recently assumend the position of United States Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues.

Growing up in New Delhi, Ambassador Rao Gupta's early experiences in life fuelled her commitment to fight for gender inequalities.

The Ambassador was previously appointed by the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon as the deputy executive director for UNICEF.

A champion of gender causes, Dr. Rao Gupta was also part of the Independent Oversight and Advisory Committee for the WHO Health Emergencies Programme.
