PM Modi has invited US President Joe Biden as the chief guest to celebrate India's Republic Day on Jan 26, 2024.

This invitation was extended during a bilateral meeting held a day before the G20 summit in New Delhi.

The US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, highlighted the importance of the invitation in strengthening the ties between India and the US.

Being invited as the chief guest for Republic Day signifies the strategic partnerships and relationships between the countries.

If accepted, Joe Biden would be the second US President to attend India's Republic Day as the chief guest, after Barack Obama's participation in 2015.
