2022 Aga Khan Music Award
Zakir Hussain (tabla maestro), Soumik Datta (sarod player), Asin Khan Langa and Dilshad Khan (Sarangi players) are the four Indian winners out of fifteen from across the world to be awarded by the Geneva based AKDN Foundation this year.
First Indian-American appointed as chair of DMA trustees’ board
Gowri Natarajan Sharma is the first person of colour to be appointed as Chair of the Dallas Museum of Art Board of Trustees. She was selected unanimously. Another Indian American, Venugopal Menon, is the Secretary of the Board.
