Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, ZIP Code: V3v2Z4
I came to Vancouver in February 2018, and still remember my first trip. It was heavily snowing the day my flight landed in Vancouver from Toronto. An event that is so rare in the Western Coast of British Columbia. Vancouver is known for its best climate in Canada. However, that day was quite different. The glistening lights of the city melted in the blanket of snow. It was a very pleasant experience driving to a house that we would be gradually making our home.
Vancouver is surrounded by the Strait of Georgia whose source is the Pacific Ocean, and the breathtaking North Shore Mountains. It’s a dazzling place for adventurous souls and wilderness-loving people. As Ruskin Bond says “It is always the same with mountains. Once you have lived with them for any length of time, you belong to them. There is no escape.” I believe mountains have trapped me with their magnificence and beauty. I am never lonely in their presence. A walk in the crisp air of the forest & mountains is enough to cure any trouble.
The terrific climate of Vancouver compared to the rest of the cold climate of Canada, provides the admirable opportunity to stroll around the city in the popular downtown area or hike in the lush green spaces around mountains and canyons. Winter sports like skiing, and sledding over the famous peaks play a big role in attracting sports enthusiasts from all over the world. Food lovers would be having a feast experiencing the different cuisines from various parts of the world.
I feel incredibly grateful for being a tiny part of this glorious planet experiencing both India and Canada.
